TRAVEL TIPS

Passports and Visas

All foreigners must have passports to enter Cuba. Beyond that, in most cases Cuba recognizes visitors as tourists, which requires the purchase of a tourist card ($20), rather than a visa. Tourist cards are valid for 30 days. Business travelers, working journalists, and some other visitors require visas. Visas cost $100 and can take up to three weeks to process. Apply at your local Cuban embassy or consulate. Visas start at 30 days and can be extended for stays of up to six months.
